The First Arrivals in Central New York from
the Upperchurch Area of Co. Tipperary
The Upperchurch Arrivals Revised May 30, 2011
There are twenty-seven (28) families, represented by 62 individuals arriving in the central New York area, who had connections back to the Upperchurch area of Co. Tipperary, Ireland. They are assigned to family groups, however the entire family didn’t always arrive together in America. Sometimes individuals came alone and sent for their immediate families after establishing themselves. Over the subsequent years, brothers and sisters and their families would join the original relatives to settle in the same area. The order of the family group listings is based on the earliest arrival of a member of the family group. The various families are sometimes labeled by a location. The label will describe where they settled, where they lived the longest or sometimes the location that was their point of origin in Ireland. The "Old" column refers to the rankings from the previous version of this list.
