This is a view of the Bryant Furniture Company manufacturing plant taken from the Methodist Church tower (formerly Prebyterian). The viewing direction is toward the southeast with the Catholic Cemetery just across the railroad tracks on the right side of the picture. The Protestant Cemetery is entirely north of the tracks and one of the monuments can be seen along the lower left side of the picture.
This is H. D. Call's store. The structure is still standing and it is located on the north side of Main Street two doors east of the intersection of Prospect and Main.
This is the location of the old B. F. Stearns' Hotel. The Stearns' House Hotel was destroyed by fire on the night of January 30, 1888. A new hotel was built by William Baldwin in 1888. There were several owners of this new hotel before it was taken over by Mr. Albert F. Kenney. Today it is known as the Hiawatha Inn and is located on the south side of Main Street, in the Village of Truxton.
John O'Connor took over the old Truxton House in 1900 and purchased the hotel in 1903. In the early morning hours of Friday, April 29, 1904 a fire started in the village high school that was located just south of the old Truxton House hotel. The high school and the old hotel were destroyed. This is the O'Connor Hotel that was built as a replacement in the summer of 1904.
